In NSW s31C of the Crimes Act makes the act of assisted suicide a crime. However, in many cases of assisted suicide in NSW and Australia the accused has been found guilty of manslaughter. Are there any reported cases in NSW or Australia where a person has been tried and convicted of murder for assisting in the suicide of the deceased? OR cases where conviction was not made out for murder, and there is a judgement as to why the elements of murder were not made out?
