In OSPF, whenever the status of an active link changes, the router that detects this change, floods this information on status change to the rest of the network. Frequent flooding seriously impacts the bandwidth of the network. Instead, why cannot the router simply use its active spanning tree to convey this same piece of information to every other router in the network? Explain. (6 marks)
