In our daily lives, many individuals and organizations or companies face common ethical problems. For example, the issue of companies monitoring their employees' e-mails, then companies monitoring their employees' social media, this is a very controversial issue. In America, according to the Civil Liberties Union, tens of millions of employees who use computers are monitored, most without their knowledge, by their employers. In my experience, this also happens in Indonesia in certain companies. Although still under discussion, the law appears to support the right of employers/leaders to read e-mails and other electronic documents from their employees. In this context, for example, the definition of "right" and "wrong" is not very clear, some people think it is right and there are laws, some think it is wrong. With the advancement of computer technology, it is important to understand computer ethics related to security, privacy issues, and the major negative impacts of IT (Information Technology). It seems that in the future there are strategies that must be developed to answer the increasing number of global ethical questions resulting from the negative impact of IT in Cyberspace. The following are examples of some of the questions that arise and need to be discussed in the context of business ethics.
What information about individuals can be disclosed to others, regardless of ask permission first? - What information about individuals should be stored in the database, and how secure is that information in the computer system?
How to deal with corruption and manipulation of personal data on computer networks?
Who is allowed to access consumer personal data and information on digital platforms?
How can safeguards be introduced to ensure that information can only be accessed by the right people or organizations? Apart from the above, in your opinion, what other issues arise and are relevant in practices related to business ethics that are vulnerable to manipulation by irresponsible business people. As a young person, you definitely have a lot of contact with the digital platforms that exist today.
