In reality it is difficult if not impossible to know exactly how an outcome of interest relates to some characteristics that helps us describe it. As a result we take a guess at this relationship and try to understand how useful this guess might be. Elaborate on functions in R that can help us make the guess of a functional form of a phenomena and writte a small function in R code that can be used to estimate the behavior of the functional form fitted to a data set (e.g. the root mean squared error).
