PEER 1:
The company I have chosen to research is Amazon. "Amazon strives to be Earth's most customer-centric company, Earth's best employer, and Earth's safest place to work" (2020). Amazon includes vendors from various countries and continents to expand their variety of products. Implementing a system that allows customers to purchase goods that may not be available to them in their current location sets Amazon apart from many other companies. Amazon's focus on its customers drives their ambition to provide various products, get packages delivered in a quick timeframe, and excel with their customer service. Amazon understands that online ordering delays the process of receiving items as opposed to picking those items up at a local retail store, however with their Amazon Prime and Amazon Air, they are able to produce quicker delivery times for their customers to minimize the time it takes for packages to be delivered. Amazon's pay wages are comparable to other companies and often even competitive. Their benefit packages are extensive and have numerous options. They provide benefits such as: health insurance, life insurance, 401K, tuition assistance, accommodations for children's events, etc.

PEER 2:
I decided on Ikea as my company of choice. Their vision statement is, "To build a better everyday life for the many people." The mission statement is, "To offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them." IKEA is very much about being affordable, but still worth purchasing. On their website, IKEA claims they are, "100% committed to sustainable cotton," and "they plan on only using recycled or renewable based plastic in IKEA products by 2030." I think that they are staying true to their vision statement. The goal was to create a better everyday life for the people and by having sustainable cotton and also using recyclable/renewable resources to lessen waste, I think they are accomplishing that. As for their mission statement, I believe they are also accomplishing this. By using these reusable resources they are able to keep their prices low for lower income families.
