In study #3, Sara and her friends got together on the 1st day of every month. They had campus directory from Study 1 and the complete list of former students from study 2. From the list of current students they randomly selected 30 students and from the list of former students they randomly selected 200 who attended before the bonfire accident and 100 who attended after the bonfire accident. These numbers were chosen as they were representative to the percentage of these subgroups to the total number of the subgroups in the total population of current students and former students to prevent any group from being over or under sampled. Sara and her friends called those same 330 people each month from September through May (the entire academic year at TAMU). In most months, they weren't able to get a hold of everyone (usually averaging about 200 each month). In January, they only got 45 people on the phone instead of their regular 200. Despite this, Sara's results in study #3 showed that respondents did indeed report higher opinions about the importance of Bonfire to Texas A&M in October and November, especially among those who attended while Bonfire was still
