In the business world, relationships with vendors are mostly supported by specified contracts and management strategies. Most business enterprises use vendors for supplying of products and services they require in order to function and continue their day-to-day operations. In Chapter 5, a detailed overview of how such relationships are maintained and how businesses would ethically retain them and maintain an amicable relationship with them is discussed. There must be acceptable behaviours for certain situations. All professionals must abide by certain codes of ethics resulting in better vendor relationships for the business. This ethical relationship would strengthen the outcomes of the business and make it more profitable for customers. In the present case, I would have also concurred with associating with the vendor based on transparent negotiations, all of which are clearly documented in specific formal contracts. In this case, my decision would be to comply with the contractual means and ensure that at each stage of procurement processes, such guidelines are effectively followed. I would communicate with the vendor and ensure that I am always in touch with them such that the steady supply of essential materials remains consistent. Additionally, I would have chosen the option of building partnerships with them because that is the key to effective vendor relationship management that strongly enhances the internal connection between a business and its suppliers. In most cases, an ideal relationship is the one where each is able to strongly and consistently serve the other party's interests for a considerable time and focus on maintaining a strong long-term association. This would have been my decision with vendor as well, and as rightly mentioned in Chapter 5, such abilities to maintain friendly contracts will not result in unethical activities that may trap a business if not carefully managed.
