In the following example, identify the unconditioned stimulus, the unconditioned response the neutral stimulus, the conditioned stimulus, and the conditioned response. Gloria is 4 years old and has to go to the hospital every month to receive treatments that are injected into her arm. The injections are quite painful for Gloria and she cries whenever she receives them. The injections are always given by the same nurse every time, Nurse Ruteger. One day while she was out with her parents shopping at a mall, the family happened to run into Nurse Ruteger. Even though they were not at the hospital and Nurse Ruteger was not dressed like a nurse, as soon as Gloria saw Nurse Ruteger she started crying.
