In the past week, we discussed about different features of ATM. As we know, ATM is a complete communication suit that is spread over physical, data-link and networking layers. In the past week, the connection-oriented nature of ATM was compared to the connection-less nature of IP protocol. In this week, as we study data-link layer, ATM can also be compared with this layer's alternatives, e.g. with Ethernet.
