We will not build on that to also conduct a competitive analysis for any new product you would like to launch in this space.
1. Based on you understanding of the customer segment and their need, describe the your product idea to solve the top need of the customers. Make sure to add who the customer segment is and what their topmost need is that you have identified.
2. Using various competitive analysis tools (e.g: surveys, "digital footprints" of competitors (Google keyword analysis, https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/ etc), social media analysis and competitors annual reports) find out:
- Who are the top 3 competitors for your product idea?
- What are these competitors value propositions?
- What are customers looking for (you have identified the customer's need. But refine it based on any further understanding you get based on above competitive analysis such as what customers search for on Google. Also list the other needs that you may come across. If you find that the top most need you identified is not among the top most need as per the compettitive analysis, you can change your answer on what is the top most need. Product Management is an iterative process as we learn more and more about the customer)?
