"Body Language") found on p. 195 of your text. The purpose of this exercise is for you to check how accurate your interpretation of another's behaviors/body language/non-verbals are. Also having someone to observe AND interpret your behavior will give you insights as to what your body language is telling others. Frequently there are errors in interpretation.Follow the directions for this assignment and then:

  • Complete all three steps including Step 2, part 2 "your partner will do the same for you."
    • Do not let one another know when the observation is occurring. This will ensure "typical" behavior.
    • Be specific and include as many details as possible.
    • Talk about accuracies and errors in interpretation from both participants, yourself and the partner you chose. Try not to let the other know when the observation is occurring.
  • Submit at least a ONE PAGE reaction including mistakes in your conclusions as compared to accuracies, of your observations and your partner's observations. One source is required.
    • All papers, including this exercise have an introduction, body and conclusion.
