You are assigned ONE problem scenario (by last initial) from the following: A-F: The entity TYPE concerned - A professional organization (i.e., an association in a professional area). G-R: The entity TYPE concerned - A holiday trip (a one-time event) S-Z: The entity TYPE concerned - A purchase of durable goods (a transaction) (please note that a purchase of durable goods have some characteristics that are significantly different from purchasing, say, grocery, stationaries, or small tools, etc). Follow the format of the entity definitions on P.59 of the text and the examples in Week 1 class, define the entity (define ENTITY! Not define attributes. Define entity, not to give/discuss one example/instance in that entity TYPE. Also follow the guidance provided on Slide #2-9 and the example that we will go through on Slide #2-10. [ 0127 in-class demo presents three examples. The demo file is posted in Week 1 module. ] Problem 2 (6 points). Business rules, and attributes. No-credit 5. (Library) PATRON has CHECK-OUT, BOOK appears in CHECK-OUT exercises 1) All entities are in CAPS; 2) No attribute except keys (PK, FK); 3) All relationships are already given; please do NOT introduce your own relationship; in other words, ONLY depict what is explicitly given.
