In this assignment you'll learn key concepts and terms, the first steps in database design, and how to build tables and create relationships.
Instructions
If you haven't already, watch the Introduction to Databases and Relational Model videos.
Complete the following online courses:
Design and build tables for a database (Access basics, part 1, all 5 videos) (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. When you're finished you'll have a database (CustomerPhones) that contains two tables (Customers and PhoneNumbers). Add at least 10 customers to the Customers table.
Create table relationships (Access basics, part 2, all 5 videos) (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. When you're finished you will have a one-to-many relationship between your Customers and PhoneNumbers tables, one-to-many relationships between the Orders and Order Detail tables and between the Products and Order Details tables, and a one to one relationship between the Company Cars and Employees tables. You will probably need to watch the videos more than once - just be patient and you'll get it. Make sure you enter several records in each table. You will need this all set up in order to do M3 - Assignment 3 working with queries.
