In this project we are going to examine one of the ways that matrices have been used in practical application. We will be examining encoding and decoding using a Hill Cipher (or Hill Algorithm). Invented by Lester S. Hill in 1929, it was the first polygraphic cipher in which it was practical (though barely) to operate on more than three symbols at once. We will be using a variation of the Hill Cipher for this project (The original Hill cipher and most modern adaptations do not encode a 'space'). In this part of the project, you will be given four different encoding matrices, A, B, C and D. Find the inverse for each matrix by hand by row reducing [matrix | I]. Show your work and use proper matrix notation. Please write down your row reduction steps. Each given matrix DOES have an inverse! Give your answers as .
