. In this project, you will deepen your understanding of how data are divided into protocol data units and how those units are modified through every layer of the OSI model.
1. You will draw or use a computer to draw the OSI model on a sheet of paper with the modifications listed below, being certain to label each layer. Identify clearly what is being encapsulated in the data field for each layer. Make sure your name is also on the paper
Above the top layer of the OSI model, write Software. Suppose the software issues an HTTP message to the network. Draw the Application layer, Presentation layer, and Session layer PDUs for this message as it appears at each of these layers (adding the appropriate header at each level). Assume that all 3 layers will add a header. Label the fields of the PDU, including the original message data.
At the Session Layer, how many fields does the PDU contain (headers and data)? ______
Draw the TCP PDU. Within the header add appropriate source and destination port number fields. Write the name of PDU TCP message next to transport layer PDU.
Draw the network layer PDU. Within the header add address fields in dotted decimal notation required for the data to be routed from one network to another. Write the name of the IP PDU message next to the network layer.
Draw a network layer PDU that includes the header, and FCS CRC field of a frame. The frame is now ready for transmission, via the Physical layer, to the network.
Add the physical layer and below it write Network.
