Sarah, thank you for feeling comfortable coming to speak with me about this issue. Harassment is something I take very seriously at ABC Company, and it will absolutely not be tolerated. I want to take some time to explain the policies laid out in our handbook, confidentiality will be very important here, but I cannot guarantee confidentiality due to the nature of harassment (Valentine, 2020, p. 88). What that means is that I will be taking partners with my executive leadership team on how to best follow up with the accused party. What I can offer you is discretion and assistance with this sexual harassment concern. I also want to emphasize that we at ABC Company have a very strict zero-tolerance policy on retaliation. Once we follow up with the accused party, if you feel retaliated against, please follow up with me and I will take appropriate steps to protect you in this situation. I want you to also be confident that once you feel comfortable sharing the details with me that I will be taking the appropriate steps of either corrective actions or solutions. You will not know the specifics of my conversation with this person but understand that I will be moving forward with whatever steps the company and my executive leadership team deems necessary.
