In Unit 1, we have been learning about computer systems and how they relate to the information processing cycle. Computer systems are made up of components and the information processing cycle is made up of stages. Identify and describe the following:

each stage of the cycle

the hardware components used in each stage and what they do

the two categories of software, examples of each, and their uses

As you describe the stages and relationship of hardware and software, provide examples that show me that you understand how this all works. Keep your answer between 250 - 500 words (you can type your response in Word and then copy/paste it into the text box. MS Word will show you the Word count down in the bottom left of the screen on the status bar. If you don't want to do this, keep in mind that 250 - 500 words is approximately 2 full paragraphs of text). As you construct your answer keep in mind, longer doesn't always mean better. I will be looking for correct use of vocabulary and terms as you identify and describe the stages, the hardware, and the software that are involved. And as ALWAYS I will be expecting correct spelling, punctuation, etc.
