A significant trend in the retail industry is the Increase in organized retail crime (ORC). The National Retail Federation (2023), ORC is a severe threat and costs retailers US$720,000 per 1 billion dollars in sales. Many consumers are now turning to sites to find cheap deals, which provide a market for stolen goods. This impacts H&M sales and revenue. The losses increase retailers' expenses, which in turn raises consumer prices.
