This step is very important as you want to start your presentation off with a bang! Ideas of things to do: o Startling Statement (Ex. In this section, explain your Air Force story. Highlighted Organization: What makes you stand out from the other components/branches? What is your organization about? Motivation: Address a problem that your audience might face and let them know why they should pay attention to you. How are you going to solve that problem and what are they going to get out of listening to what you have to say? It's in our nature to want to know, "What's in it for me?" Giving the incentive to listen helps entice the audience to want to pay attention to you. Overview: What are you going to be speaking about? Body: (The 3 benefits will be Tech School, Teamwork, and Medical Care) 3 Main Ideas (Relevant Features) / Support Main Points w/Appropriate Benefits

• Be the age of 17 to 39 years old • Min. Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) score of 31

• Must meet the Military Entrance Processing Station physical standards 

• Requires a commitment (component specific) 

Summary: Give a brief summary recalling the most important information and don't retell your entire speech. No questions are allowed once you reach a conclusion. 

*NOTE: Do not add any new information/ideas at the end that were not already previously discussed in the presentation. Re-Motivation: This statement should tie back to your initial motivation and inspire the audience. 

Urge to Action: You must urge/challenge your audience to take some sort of action other than going to a website or grabbing business card. Encourage them to contact you for an appointment and/or refer someone who will also benefit to contact you and see if the Air Force is a viable option.

Tailored/Relevant to Audience: Speaker must research information about the audience given and tailor features and benefits learned from the service benefits package information. 

Accurate Information: Speaker must avoid misinformation about any aspect of the recruiting or enlistment process, policies, procedures, entitlements, and benefits. (Refer to Professional Conduct/ Irregularity lesson)
