1. Social host liability laws impose civil or criminal penalties on individuals (social hosts) for underage drinking events held on property they own, lease, or otherwise control. A researcher conducted a study to assess if social host laws reduce underage drinking in a community. The researcher compared rates of underage drinking in two communities; community A which adopted social host laws and community B with no such laws.
