In your research did you find that there was long term sustained growth? I would think and agree with you that for the event and leading up to the event there would be some growth and production to ensure that the event goes smoothly but I just wonder that after the event if that same growth continued and that the Tyrol and non-tyrol areas continued to attain sustained improvement in their infrastructure or if it dwindled due to the event being over. Thoughts?

The article "The economic impact of participant sports events: A case study for the winter world masters games 2020 in Tyrol, Austria. Economies, 8(4), 94" by Lintumki et al. (2020) highlights the positive and negative impacts of sports activities in the economy focusing on the Winter World Masters Games (WWMGs) sport events in Tyrol. From the study, Lintumki et al. (2020) state that the economic impact of sports events, facilities, teams, or cities can generate long and short-term benefits to the host country or region as a destination for tourism, leading to increased job opportunities. The study was conducted by classifying the participants into two different categories based on their community settings, which are Non-Tyrol or Tyrol. Therefore, an online questionnaire was formulated for data collection before the events began, where the participants were expected to submit their feedback during or after the events were complete. The use of questionnaires was to estimate the economic impact of WWMG sports and the job opportunities it has offered in that region. Additionally, WWMG events incorporate participants capable of traveling alongside their friends and families, making a great impact on the community's involvement in various business activities. Some of the key findings and conclusions were increased traveling, production and buying of commodities, advanced infrastructure, and accommodations, among other business opportunities (Lintumki et al., 2020). Increased movements of guests and local tourists in the region led to high economic returns. From the article, the impacts can be both indirect and direct in economic, cultural and social, depending on the participants of the scheduled events. Similarly, one of the existing alternative conclusion is that various skilled individuals like sales representatives, designers, engineers and production workers in Tyrol really benefits from such events since it is a time when high employment opportunities exist. Also, it can be concluded that such kind of sports event creates room for various enterprises to prepare in advance since the spectators and participants always visit the host region prior to the main days. As a result, those involved in business have ample time to employ more people for high production rates, leading to increased economic income in the region and to the individuals.
