Hello All,
Every company has cyclic nature demands, which means that at certain times of the year, a company has its highs and is extremely busy, and then there are other times it has its lows and business is very slow. If the company is prepared for its ups and downs, things will be ok. For 20+ years, I worked for a pizza and seafood restaurant, and they always dealt with cyclic demand. Every week Monday through Thursday, it was slow; they just made enough to pay the bills and help, and when Friday through Sunday approached, it was jam-packed, and the money they made was just for them. I can remember that every Easter when Lent started every Wednesday and Friday, we sold so much seafood because the religious people couldnt eat fish, but as soon as the holiday was over, there would be a two-week slow time. What they did to adapt was make sure they had the correct number of employees when needed; on the slow days, they would staff accordingly, and on the hectic days, they would staff extra so they had enough people to ensure the customers were satisfied.
