Incarcerated people in the US are at high risk of tuberculosis (TB) because of various structural failures in the criminal justice system. A group of newly sentenced people were screened for TB at the start of their prison terms and 2 out of 148 tested positive. Three years later, all the prisoners were still incarcerated.
