Incident Response Plan

Scenario: You reach into your pocket/handbag and - you can't find your smartphone! You do not know if it has been stolen or simply lost. You have personal and private information on your phone (emails, SMS texts, photos, etc). What are you going to do?

Fortunately, this hasn't happened yet, but it could.

In preparation for this scenario, you are asked to develop a personal incident response plan to address a lost or stolen phone.

Remember, an incident response plan is a plan you should follow during the incident to mitigate, reduce and contain the damage. Such a plan should clearly list out what everyone's role is supposed to be and what steps have to be taken so there is no confusion or panic when an incident occurs.

If there are technology/software tools to be used, ensure you identify what they are and how they are to be used during this incident.

NOTE: This is NOT a disaster recovery plan. The end result is NOT to acquire a new phone, nor is it to restore your data to a new phone.
