include a minimum of 3 references please.

The organization is Walmart SPECIFICALLY identify each of the technological components of your solution. This section is designed to convey the exact technology components that will be used in your proposed solution. While you don't need to provide pricing, you do need to be specific. As an example, if you state "database", you must specify the DBMS and the approximate amount of storage capacity based upon the data needs of the solution. It is often easiest to work through this section sequentially in a manner that mirrors the flow chart from the first section. Provide a DETAILED implementation plan. How will you implement the new solution? (direct cutover, trial group, etc?) Provide a detailed schedule for the implementation based upon the organization's specific characteristics. You must provide a timeline for the implementation in addition to a narrative description of how you will implement the plan. This plan should also include a trouble resolution/post implementation issue resolution component that describes how you will handle issues that arise during or after the solution has been deployed. Discuss the controls you will have in place to evaluate the effectiveness of your proposed solution as well as the effectiveness of your implementation. What are the KPIs the solution should improve? What are the CSFs that will help ensure a clean transition to the proposed solution? Provide a conclusion that summarizes the midterm paper and the implementation outlined for this paper The conclusion should briefly recap the organization and problem, restate the benefit of the proposed change, then highlight quantifiable aspect of the benefit (Money saved, employees reduced, etc.) This benefit should be in terms of not only production/service metrics, but also extrapolated into a revenue/profit increase. As an example, if your solution reduced supply receiving time by "X" percent, that percentage would be deducted from the total man hours needed in a shift/day. Those man hours multiplied by the prevailing rate for that labor would give you an hourly savings, which would then be multiplied by however many units of the selected time measurement occur in a year. Last, the conclusion should reiterate why the selected solution and implementation methodology is beneficial to the organization and it's stakeholders.

Organization

The organization used in this case to answer the questions that follow is Walmart. Walmart is the world's largest organization in terms of revenue. The organization is owned by the Walton family which holds 50% of its shares. Walmart sources products from different parts of the world and sells them to customers. A report released by the end of the physical year on January 31, 2022, indicates that Walmart has a revenue amounting to approximately 573 billion U.S dollars. The large scale retailer has competitors on its services that include; Home Depot, Amazon, eBay, Albertsons, and Giant Eagle.

Walmart Inefficiency

Poor retail execution has been a weakness facing Walmart. The process of designing business activities to ensure that a consumer gets goods at the right time. Execution aims at putting the right product on the right shelf at the right time. In the case of Walmart, the organization has had a sloppy retail execution. This has made it hard for the retail organization reach to its objectives. A study that was conducted by the Chicago Graduate School of Business shows that 65% of on-hand inventory records were unidentified. As a result, 240 000 items were affected in 37 stores. The study also showed that 16% of the products in the chain stores were misplaced. They were put on the wrong shelf. The effect of poor retail execution is losing sale opportunities. A product may be available but being on the wrong shelf it ends up unsold.

Solution

To solve the challenge of retail execution, something needs to be done. One way is keeping physical checkups in the stores. The checkup would aim at looking at how accurate the data is close to 100%. To do this, you need to have people who will counter-check the shelves to find out what is misplaced. Another solution is conducting research using the internet to find out products that are unsold.

This could help determine products that are on shelves but have zero sales and attract the attention of checking whether they are on one right shelf.

Technology

To identify how many times a product is sold, the organization needs to use the data on the products received. After recording when a product is sold, the product sold should reflect on an application to be developed by the organization. This would show how many times a product is sold. At the end of the day, week or month, some products would reflect zero sales. This would demand the attention of the management to find out why the company has recorded zero sales. In one way, it would be found out that some products recording zero sales were misplaced. This would help solve the issue of poor retail execution.

Conclusion

Walmart is a large organization offering sales to a wide area. It is expected that the management of the organization would be keen to make sure it offers satisfactory services to customers. However, this is not possible if the organization ignores the problem of misplacement of products on shelves. Some products would go bad and Walmart would miss the opportunity to make sales. To solve this, the organization needs to conduct a check on products and where they are placed.
