Your group will take on the role of a start-up company pitching an idea to a client. A Member will fill the role as the client. For this project, you will work in teams of 3 or 4 Members. Part 1 Project Inception Form a team. Propose an IT product which can be developed in around 12 months. This product must provide new functionality or have some features or abilities that would make it desirable over currently related products. (1) Write a proposal for your product. This proposal should be a half page at minimum and include why the client should hire you. For the purpose of this project, you may assume the client is any type of person or works in any field you wish. The following constraints are to be placed on the product: It cannot be a game (2) Write a project charter document (one pager) Part 2 Project Requirements Now that you have had your project approved and funded, the customer hiring you will meet with you regularly to discuss and evaluate your progress. (1) The next step is you define the requirements of the project. It will be from these requirements that you will begin designing the system. The deliverable for this section of your project is based on a Software Requirement Specification document (attached in another document). This document will describe the goals of the project and the types of users who will interact with it. In addition to the features you described in your project proposal, the customer wishes to add the following general features: Usability should be emphasized so your system can be accessed by anyone, even those with limited computer experience. The system should be robust against problems and be able to handle mistakes, errors and exceptions. (2) Also, you should provide a Gantt chart planning your plan for implementing the product based on your requirements defined.
