Initial Proposal For An Application in Graph Theory This is the request for the initial proposal of the term project. All submissions will be posted on Blackboard so that you can browse and choose the one you want to form a group to work on. You can certainly choose to work on the one you propose. You can also choose to work on another project. In this proposal, please describe your project, including the data source, data format, how you can model with a graphetwork, what properties and features that you want to explore, and the significance of the project. Specify your tentative programming environment. An example is included in the next page. To help you understand the context of this initial proposal, I also include here what is expected for the next group proposal. As mentioned above, individual proposals will be posted on Blackboard. I will then create a poll where you can specify which project you would like to work on. At most 6 people can choose to work on the same project. When there are 46 people choosing the same project, they will need to split into two groups and each group work independently. I.e., you can work in a group with at most 3 members. You are not encouraged to work on a project independently. However if it is very necessary for you to do so, e.g., your data cannot be shared with other students, please contact the instructor as soon as possible. Once a group is formed for a chosen proposal, the group need to work together to write a group proposal that is an updated and extended version beyond what is initially proposed. You also need to specify (planned) contribution from each group member. Use percentages to specify each member's work in each component of data collection, data preparation, design, implementation, testing \& debugging, documentation, report, and presentation. Since you will continue to learn more characteristics and properties related to graphs and networks, you are expected to update your project to include more analysis. And the contribution specified in the group proposal is planned contribution, it will subject to change. So you will need to specify contribution again in each subsequent report including the final report. The initial proposal will be graded for the following components: (30%) Introduction with background and significance (20%) Data source & format (20%) Graph model (20\%) Preliminary plan of analysis (10\%) Work environment Initial Proposal For An Application in Graph Theory This is the request for the initial proposal of the term project.
