Inositol is a simple polyol precursor in the second Messenger System that is important in the brain. Inositol of cerebrospinal fluid has been reported to decline in depression. The double-blind controlled trial of 12 G Diary Inositol in 28 depression patients for four weeks was carried out. The overall benefits are significant for inositol compared to placebo found on week 4 on the Depression of Hamilton. There are no changes recorded in the function of hematology, kidney, or liver. Because many antidepressants are effective in panic disorders, twenty-one patients with panic disorders with or without agoraphobia completed the trial of the crossover treatment of double-blind, controlled, four weeks, random assignments from 12 g inositol per day. The frequency and severity of panic attacks and the severity of the agoraphobia decreased significantly with inositol compared to placebo. The side effects are minimal. Because serotonin is a favorable inhibitor of profitable obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD) and inositol reported reversing the desensitization of serotonin receptors, thirteen patients with OCD completed a crossover trial controlled by double-blind each for six weeks. Inositol significantly reduces the number of OCD symptoms compared to placebo. The double-blind crossover trial was controlled from the 12G daily Inositol for a month in twelve anergic schizophrenia patients, did not show profitable effects.

Crossover trials controlled by double-blind of 6 g of daily vs glucose society for one month were carried out at eleven Alzheimer's patients, with a significant therapeutic effect. Antidepressant drugs have been reported to increase deficit disorder (ADDH) with hyperactive symptomatology. We studied oral inositol in children with ADH in a double-blind, crossover, placebo-controlled. Eleven children, the average age of 8.9 +/- 3.6 years was registered in eight-week trial inositol or placebo with a dose of 200 mg/kg body weight. The results show trends to annoy syndrome with Myo-Inositol compared to placebo. Recent studies show that serotonin re-absorption inhibitors are very helpful in at least some symptoms of autism.

But the Double-Blind Crossover trial which is controlled from Inositol 200 mg/kg per day does not show the benefits of nine children with autism. The cholinergic agonist has been reported to repair electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) - experiencing memory disorders. Society metabolism is involved in the second messenger system for several cholinergic receptors Muscarinic. Inositol 6 g every day is given by crossover-double-blind for five days before the ECT to fifth or sixth is a series of twelve patients, without effects. These results indicate that inositol has a therapeutic effect in the spectrum of responsive diseases to selective serotonin re-absorption inhibitors, including depression, panic, and OCD, and is not useful in schizophrenia, ADDH Alzheimer's, autism, or cognitive disorders.
