Question 1 A gynecologist conducted a study to examine the effect of a baby's gestational time in utero on their birth weight. The birth mothers were characterized as smokers ("0") and non-smokers ("1"). Thirty-two subjects were tested and their results are provided below:

1. What is the most appropriate test to conduct to determine the babies' birth weight while
controlling for a gestational time in utero? Explain?
2. Conduct this test and provide the relevant input and output files.
3. State your hypotheses, provide your results, and your conclusion?
4. Has the assumptions of normality and homogeneity of variance been met? (Quote
relevant statistics in your response and provide the necessary hypotheses).
Question 2
Research is carried out to determine the impact of four types of feed for goats (Hay, Grass,
Browsing and Concentrates). The researcher is of the belief that the three breeds (Boer, Kiko and
Pygmy) he works with may differ in terms of weight gain. He samples 52 goats from each breed,
randomly assigning 13 to each diet. He measures weight gain on each goat in kilograms over a 3-
month period. The results are given below

1. Propose null hypotheses to test whether feed or breed has an effect on the weight of goats.
2. Using JASP, conduct the relevant test to analyze the hypothesis provided. The JASP output
of all the statistical analyses performed as well as the file that was produced should be
provided
3. Interpret your P-values. Are there any significant main effects or an interaction effect?
4. Are the relevant assumptions satisfied? State your hypotheses and results
5. Now that you have all the information you need, come up with a conclusion statement and
discuss the relationship between the variables.
