For this assignment you are to develop a communication plan that will address the requirements of the stakeholders in the scenario presented below. It is expected that technology tools will be use to carry out the communication plan. Some possible tools to include may be as follows:

• Gantt Charts / Graphics
• Schedules / Tables
• Voice communication
• Tele conferencing

Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you are to develop the communication plan that will guide employees through the various moves and changes that will take place in their office space while the project is being completed.

In order to develop the plan, you will need to draft an initial timeline/ schedule for the project activities. From there, communication milestones can be identified and described. For clarity, you will need to label the stages/ milestones of the project. The use of Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 and so on would be acceptable.

You are free to make any assumptions you would like about resources and available technology, but those assumptions must be documented in the plan (e.g., Whiteboards placed near elevators are already owned by the company).

It is imperative that every aspect of the project be considered when creating a well detailed and documented plan.

Scenario

You are the project manager for a major retrofit of a downtown office tower. The company currently occupies four floors of the building. In anticipation of further expansion, the company has signed a long-term lease for another floor in the building. This fifth floor does not currently house any staff and can be available for use as swing space during the project. The retrofit does, include this fifth floor. The Scope of work requires the entire floor to be vacant yet the company must maintain business as usual while the work is being done, and has been quite specific about this requirement. The contract specifies that existing furniture will continue to be used by staff, with new furniture being purchased for the fifth floor. While staff will be moved temporarily to allow for work to be completed, the company has specified that existing staff will be returned to their original floor once the entire project is finished. There are two layouts that are in use for the four floors the company already owns. Two of the floors have offices around the outside, and a large meeting room in the middle. There are thirteen offices on the floors with the meeting
