Instructions: In this exercise you will develop a fourteen-day schedule for a chemistry section that performs 12,000 tests during this time frame. Each test is assigned a unit of 0.1. The schedule should be covered 24 hours per day for each day of the week, and there is no difference in workload between shifts. You may choose to use any mix of full-time or part-time employees, as long as the correct number of FTEs is used. You may choose to assign standard 8 hours shifts or use a mixture of 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, as long as the laboratory is staffed 24 hours per day. Answer the following questions and develop your schedule. You may present the schedule in any logical format. Students in the past have inserted tables into the word document, attached a spreadsheet, or attached a hand-written table to the drop box. Some students choose to name their employees while others simply label them as Employee 1, Employee 2, etc. Use your imagination and have fun with this assignment!

1. Calculate how many FTEs are necessary to meet this workload during the 14-day period

2. Calculate how many hours of work must be performed each day (Number of hours needed in 14-day period divided by 14)

3. Explain how many full/part time employees you will use and what shifts the employees will use (there are multiple options you can use, as long as the number of FTEs is correct!)

4. Develop your schedule using this information. See the instructions for more information about presenting the completed schedule
