Management has allocated an additional $5,000 (promotional activities budget) to update the web site. Management also wishes to include an on-line shopping function on the website and have this work completed before the end of the financial year. As the Marketing Officer, you have been asked to coordinate the development of the new website and shopping cart for NatureCare Products.
(1) Develop a brief that can be provided to a contracted website developer for the required web site.
- An outline of the key positive messages that the company would like to convey through its web site, especially in relation to the ethics of the company.
(Hint: This will be information from the scenario e.g. environmental responsibility,
natural, eco-friendly, high quality)
- Your ideas for the content of the web site, including the shopping cart.
(Hint: Ideas could be in regard to e.g. number of pages on web site, content, and
colours to be used, etc).
- Budget available.
- A brief outline of the process that includes what is required and by whom in each stage (design, test and implement) of the activity, and the timeframe in which is required.
- An outline of the Marketing Policy and Procedure elements that they must comply with, including any other legislation or regulations, or components of, that are not covered by the current Policy and Procedure.
(Hint: From the current policy and procedure - including templates, ethical
marketing, anti-discrimination requirements, privacy laws in relation to selling
data. Legislation and regs not included - Australian Consumer law relating to
online shopping, Electronic Transactions Act and Regulations, Product Liability
Regulation, etc).
- Any other relevant information that you think should be conveyed, such as the client demographic.
(Hint: Client demographic and preferred fonts and images, for example).
