Instructions The purpose of this assignment is to give you an opportunity to evaluate a product category based on available market data, and to use library resources that are relevant to marketers. You will select one product category that interests you and for which you will be able to find good data. Please check the library resources whether there is a report that covers this industry before you get started. You analysis will cover two areas: relevant consumer trends, and an analysis of competitors. You will conclude with one idea for an opportunity in this category based on consumer and competitor trends. Please see below for what information you need to include for each section. The sample assignment also outlines what you need to include. Consumer analysis You need to describe at least two relevant consumer trends and provide numerical data to support your claims. . Competitor analysis You need to describe and provide market share data for the two largest brands in the category. You need to describe at least one niche brand that has been successful in the category. You need to provide at least two examples of products that are indirect competitors and provide growth data for one of those categories.
