This project requires students to work in groups of $2-4$ students. Each group shall submit a single report for

grading. The report should make a simple table of members' names, student IDs and their contributions on

the report.

Assignment Description

Assume that the two organizations below want to install a direct multimedia communication link between

following two locations for exchange of voice, data, images, text, etc.:

Flinders Street station located at Flinders St$,$ Melbourne VIC $3000,$ and

Melbourne central station located at Swanston Street Cnr La Trobe St$,$ Melbourne VIC $3000.$

The executives$/$technical leader of the two organizations are unsure of which technology to use. You have thus

been contacted as a telecommunication consultant to propose possible solutions $($at least two$)$ for

consideration. One solution should be based on Digital Microwave Radio $($DMR$)$ link and another should be

based on existing telecommunication and networking infrastructure $($this option may include using PSTN$,$

optical fibre, internet and other available options$).$ You need to explore more options using available literature.

The report should present details of both proposed solutions in aspects of technical, economic and reliability.

Report should present one option for possible implementation to the executive team and your group need to

substantiate why the executive team should choose the option. The reason should be based on economic,

technical and reliability aspects. After that, assume that you have been given the contract to design and

implement the selected option. Then, your team need to present the design and implementation aspects of

the selected option. In addition, the report should also contain a title page, table of content,

summary$/$abstract$,$ introduction, body of the report and conclusions. It is required that students in your

group should demonstrate the following key skills in their report:

Architecture of both proposed networks

Technological details of the two proposed solutions.

Economic and reliability analysis of both proposed solutions
