Most of the continuation of marrying girls off early (between the ages of 7 and 16), often to much older men, has cultural, economic, and religious ties. Early, forced marriage occurs most often in Niger, Bangladesh, Chad, Mali, Central African Republic, India, Guinea, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, and Nepal, but it is estimated that 49 countries have significant child bride problems.
