Introduction to counseling

review and think about all the activities/assignments you have done for the introduction to counseling class and write at least, if not more, two pages in response to the questions below.

1) Connect, extend, and challenge.

• What are three things you really connected with?
• What is something that extended your thinking in a new direction?
• Is there something that is still challenging for you, to get your head around? (I want to be a sport psychologist but I don't feel like this course has said much about it)

2). I used to think. But now...

Think about the topics we spoke about, various ethical concerns, theories, and working with various populations etc., what are some ideas that you had before engaging in this course that either altered the way you saw your area of interest/the profession or added value to what you already know?(definitely educated me more specifically on the ethical concern. and it motivated me, even more, to want to work with international professional athletes in the NBA etc.)

3) Think, puzzle, and explore.

• What do you think about what you just learned?
• Are there any questions that are left unanswered or puzzled about?
• What would you like to explore further?
• To be a better counselor/helper, what further do you need to explore (training, additional schooling, more experience)
