Introduction to Networks Skills Assessment
Assessment Objectives
Perform IOS device initialization and basic configuration
Design, calculate, and implement IPv Addressing Scheme
Configuration of IOS device interfaces for both IPv and IPv
Configure IPv and IPv addresses on network hosts
Implement device security, including secure transport protocol for remote access
Configuration of a switch for remote management
Scenario
In this assessment you will be responsible for configuring the network for both IPv and IPv
Using the skills and knowledge that you have learned in this course, you will configure Campus router. You will then need to configure basic switch security, and enable remote management on LAN switch. So that they can communicate using both IPv and IPv you will then configure the four hosts PC PC Admin, TFTP Server on the two LANs. Finally, as a precaution, you will need to back a device configuration and IOS to a TFTP server.
Important Note: Simulating physical equipment, all IOS devices requiring configuration must be accessed via the device console using a terminal application.
Once everything has been configured, you will then verify connectivity.
Requirements by device:
Campus router:
o Configure initial router settings
o Interface configuration and network addressing using both IPv and IPv
o Implement device security or device hardening
o Secure transport for remote configuration connections
o Backup the configuration file to a TFTP server
LAN switch:
o Configure basic switch security
o Enable secure remote management
PC and Server Hosts:
o IPv addressing
o IPv addressing
Note: In this scenario, switch LAN is inaccessible and does not require configuration.

Step : Determine the Addressing Scheme
a Subnet the network to provide host addresses per subnet while wasting the fewest addresses.
b Assign the fourth subnet to the Student LAN.
c For Student assign the last host address the highest in this subnet to the G interface on Campus.
d Starting with the fifth subnet, using VLSM subnet the network again to create new subnets that will provide host addresses per subnet while wasting the fewest addresses.
e Assign the second of the newly created host subnets to the Staff LAN.
f Assign the last host address the highest in the Staff subnet to the G interface of the Campus router.
g Assign the second to last address the second highest in this subnet to the VLAN interface of the LAN switch.
h Configure addresses on the hosts using the first two even addresses in their respective subnets beginning with PC and Admin.
