Investopedia Report Guidelines This document will outline the various elements to be included in your report due at midnight on Monday of Week 9. Plagiarism warning First and most importantly, this report is to be written INDIVIDUALLY. The investing experience is different for all of you, so there really is no reason for two reports to be highly similar to each other (nor sections within them). As you are required to submit your report on Turnitin, your work will be analyzed for similarity with other submissions and internet resources. Report components Your report should include the following components: A cover page: The front page of your report should have a title, your name and student number, the course code and section, and the instructors name. Reflection on four checkpoints: While you are engaged in the simulation, you are to document your portfolio (screenshots work well) at four weekly check points (end of weeks 4, 5, 6, and 7). It is a good idea to write a brief summary right after you take a screenshot while your memory of the week is fresh. Some points you may discuss in your checkpoint reflections are: Trades made (and considered, but not made) Trading performance over the past week Alterations of strategy/plans going forward Relevant news you encountered during the week and the impact it had on your investing Reflection on two KYC forms: You are required to fill out a Know Your Client (KYC) form prior to starting investing. It will give you an idea of your risk tolerance. Again, it might be a good idea to write out a few reflection points right after you fill out the form- you can discuss things like your past investing experience, your knowledge of certain industries or companies, etc. You are also required to fill out a KYC form after your fourth checkpoint. To reflect on the second KYC form, you can discuss things like how your trading attitudes have evolved (or simply been confirmed) through the exercise. Try to be specific, pointing to trades which have succeeded or failed and/or other events which had a significant impact. Reflection on overall simulation experience: This can be viewed as a concluding section of your report. You can talk about how your overall investing approach evolved over time and any investing plans you may have in the future. Note that investing does not need to be limited to the elements we have covered here in this exercise (can also include real estate, commodities such as gold and silver, guaranteed investment/savings accounts, etc). Finally, good report structure and grammar is quite important so please take care to write complete sentences, build logical paragraphs, and produce a well-organized and detailed report.
