It has been suggested over the years that spending for social insurance programs is not sustainable over the long run. If that prediction is borne out and cuts must be made to social insurance programs, should benefits from all social insurance programs be reduced by some set percentage? If so$,$ by how much? If not, meaning that one or more social programs must be entirely eliminated, which program or programs should be eliminated? Why?
