It is desired to design a process to produce di-tertiary butyl peroxide (DTBP) that is formed when tertiary butyl hydro peroxide (TBHP) reacts with tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) TBA+TBHPDTBP The reaction temperature range is between 40C and 160C and it is to be conducted in the liquid phase by increasing the pressure, the optimal reaction temperature is 140C at a pressure condition that makes the feed in the liquid phase (How to find that pressure?). A 90% conversion and the feed to the reactor consists of 58wt% TBA, 40% TBHP, 0.2wt% methanol, 1.3% acetone and 0.5% water. The feed source is at 25C Start with a feed of 10 tons/h Design a flow diagram of the process showing essential steps and equipments and highlight the following 1. Feed preparation step indicating any steps and materials used for heating. Estimate the amount of material used for heating purposes and the heat supplied. Provide your justifications (2.0 Points) 2. Estimate the flow rate of materials leaving the reactor. (2.0 Points) 3. Propose a separation scheme and estimate the amount of material that will be produced after separation.
