It is desired to determine the amount of zinc (Zn) in a sediment sample by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. 2,000 g of sediment are taken and digested with HNO3, HCl and H2O2. The digestate is transferred to a 100.0-mL flask and diluted to brand. A 2.00 mL aliquot of the diluted sample is transferred to a volumetric flask. 10.0 mL and dilute to the mark. This solution gave an absorbance of 0.186. The curve of calibration resulted in the regression equation y = 2.85 x (ppm or mg/L Zn) + 0.035. calculate the Zn concentration, in ppm (g/g), in the original sediment sample.
