It is unlawful within the city of Mensen to practice any aspect of Islam in public or private locations. Such prohibition includes conducting public prayers in public areas in such a manner as to be a nuisance or interference with public services and includes a prohibition of public demonstrations where any aspect of Islam is displayed. Any form of Sharia law is invalid within the city limits. Any violation of this regulation carries with it immediate 6 months imprisonment and a $1,500.00 fine at the discretion of the mayor. This regulation is enacted because the federal government has failed to adequately protect the residents of Mensen from radical Islam.
Discuss any legal issues or concepts that you can identify and discuss any topics or issues that would help shape whether or not this regulation could be found valid or invalid. Please limit your discussion to 1-3 paragraphs.
