It is very important that sexual harassment is implemented into our workforce. In order to know the importance of why it was implemented then you need to know what sexual harassment is. The EEOC explains it as "It is unlawful to harass a person (an applicant or employee) because of that person's sex. Harassment can include "sexual harassment" or unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature. Harassment does not have to be of a sexual nature, however, and can include offensive remarks about a person's sex. For example, it is illegal to harass a woman by making offensive comments about women in general." It is also important to note that sexual harassment isn't just a man to a woman. It can be a woman to man as well as someone of the same sex. The sexual harassment policy is put into place as explained by (Sanders, 2022) "To prevent liability and adverse actions by the EEOC, as well as to ensure a safe and worker-friendly place of business, employers should develop and enforce a sexual harassment policy."
