It might not be efficient nor practical, but is it possible to design a jack/lifting device only using a heater to heat a gas which will then move a platform/ram/piston (which does the lifting)? Try designing such a device that is capable of lifting a 1969 Chevy Corvette as high as 2 meters. Feel free to choose the fluid and devise the design (e.g. a single large cylinder or several?)
