It's funny we should have this topic, as I am in the cycle of trying to buy a GPU and failing. One popular trend I've seen for Nvidia and AMD GPUs is that they're becoming increasingly expensive and less worth the money. I believe they responded to the increase in their demand by raising the prices of their GPUs so that people are less willing to spend more on less. Regardless, it still happens- however it only reinforces the idea that consumers will pay more for the GPUs they're selling. If I were the CEO of either company, I would continue raising prices until the demand showed decline. After all, that's likely how their stock began shooting up in 2016 (according to macrotrends.com)
