(i) If the mortality rates of the standard table are applied in this population, the expected number of deaths at any particular age would clearly be 9800 x 0.001 = 9.8. Given that our population experiences mortality rates of (1;; = 0.0012 for a: = 40, 41, . . . ,49, nd out the probability that the actual deaths at any particular age will exceed its expected deaths.
