"""J Introduction 1.Employability Employability is the traits that employers value, and the qualities likely to lead to rapid success in management andlor business from the outset. Many of these characteristics have to do with abilities and methods of thinking, as opposed to book learning. Thankfully, nearly all of these talents are transferable. This means that they will not only help you achieve success in your work, but they will also help you earn a decent degree by assisting you in studying properly and efficiently. (Cameron, 2020) Similarly, employability means that a person has the skills and qualities needed to meet the changing needs of employers and customers and help him or her reach his or her goals and potential at work. It also means that people who are able to work are encouraged to get the skills, knowledge, technology, and adaptability they need to get a job and keep it for the rest of their working lives.(McQuaid & Lindsay, 2005). These skills include resource management, communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork and problem solving, as well as job acquisition and retention.(Kenayathulla et al., 2019) Employers today place an emphasis on hiring candidates with not only fundamental academic skills such as reading, writing, science, mathematics, oral communication, and listening, but also higher order cognitive abilities such as learning, reasoning, creative thinking, decision making, and problem solving. (Kenayathulla et al., 2019; Morgan, 2020)Most employers seek candidates with a wide range of skills. Personal transferrable skills, motivation, specific skills and abilities required for a particular function, and personality traits such as conscientiousness and desire to learn are all necessary for employees to perform successfully in their roles. Motivated self-starters and confident individuals who can lead and work with other people are sought after by graduate employer. 2.Green Careers Green jobs are a hybrid of traditional environmental science and engineering elds, with an eye toward new regulations and a more sustainable future. (Deitche, 2010)Green jobs are the way of the future because it is no longerjust about doing the right thing for the environment, but also about taking business to the next level by lowering costs and expanding the market. (Deitche, 2010)The Pew Charitable Trust published a ground-breaking report on green jobs in which it found that from 1998 to 2007, the number ofjobs in the clean energy sector grew at a rate that was higher than the overall rate ofjob growth in the United States. Despite a lack of funding from the government, green jobs have attracted new venture capital and provided both high skill and blue collar jobs across the United States. In 2007, more than 68,200 green businesses in all fifty states and the District of Columbia generated 770,000 jobs. 3. Sustainability-related careers and Graduate prospects As investors demand greater accountability from corporate boards and civil societies demand more action on environmental and social issues from their governments, investment in ESG and green sectors is expected to grow further. Employees are putting pressure on employers to improve their sustainability performance, in addition to investors and governments. Companies discover that job seekers' perceptions of an employer's sustainability performance are a signicant determinant of employment choice. In addition, Schemes that employ graduates, particularly those with fewer opportunities to acquire prior experience, may also assist employer organizations in maintaining or enhancing their ESG scores.(Gamlath, 2022). (Thomas et a|., 2007) Respondents' academic backgrounds could be divided into a few distinct groups. 26 percent of respondents have postgraduate degrees, as depicted in Figure 1. While the majority (4?%) had a regular (unclassied) degree, only 19% had an honours degree. There are many environmental jobs that don't require postgraduate education, according to these ndings. For some jobs, an undergraduate degree or educational qualication may be all that is necessary. A postgraduate degree or other specialized training may be required for some environmental occupations, although this was not considered in the survey. Education, Skills and abilities required in green career Occupations related to sustainability typically need more analytical and non-routine work than jobs in other career categories; the less routine work environment necessitates more imaginative problem-solving. One distinguishing characteristic of occupations based on sustainability is that they provide higher degrees of on- the-job training and learning in the "green industry," which favourably impacts career progression.(Gamlath, 2022) Accordingly, (Hiscott, 2021), The industry requires graduates who are enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the world. The significance of being able to think on a grand scale, in addition to having a knowledge of how to work with numbers and deal with uncertainty as well as teamworking. The results in Figure 2 regarding general skill levels indicate that the majority of survey respondents believe it is essential to possess a wide range of general abilities at a high level of prociency. This suggests that in addition to academic credentials, well developed general abilities are essential for employment or success in many environmental occupations.
