Jason intends to change the floor tiles of his house dining hall. Stella owns a shop specialising in selling all kinds of tiles. Jason told Stella that he needed new tiles for the dining hall of his house. Stella recommended to Jason a type of tiles known as "Pearl" and described to him that the tiles were beautiful and suitable for dining halls of houses.
Three weeks later, Jason faced problems with dining hall's floor with the new tiles he had
purchased from Stella. They started to crack and some spots on the floor were very slippery. As a result, Jason had to engage the services of a carpenter to remove the tiles and have the entire floor of the dining hall re-tiled. Ali, the professional tiles layer told Jason that the tiles were not suitable for dining hall as they were too slippery and it is not the first time he is changing the tiles as he has changed at other houses due to same problems. He added that the tiles are too easy to crack and made of low quality material.
Advise Jason as to his rights against Stella under the Sale of Goods Act 1957.
