Jerry, Elaine, and George are on a university field trip, taking a tour of the local power plant. Walking ahead of the group, Jerry sees a sign on a metal box that reads: 'DANGER: HIGH VOLTAGE - DO NOT TOUCH'. Jerry accidentally knocks the sign off the metal box and it falls face down on the floor. He decides not to pick it up as he thinks it might be funny for someone to get an electric shock. Shortly afterward, Elaine arrives at the location and, not thinking it is dangerous, opens the metal box and is electrocuted. George, who saw what happened, runs after Jerry, shouting "Look what you did, Jerry! It's no wonder everyone hates you!" Hearing this, Jerry snaps and hits George viciously three times in the chest with his bare fists, leaving him laying on the floor writhing in pain. Jerry runs for the exit, where a police officer is standing watch. In an attempt to avoid arrest and throw the officer off balance, Jerry raises his fist very quickly at him, thinking it would be a harmless startle. The officer moves to dodge the expected blow and slips on an oily mess that the plant employees should have cleaned up earlier but did not. The officer tumbles down the stairs, resulting in scratches and light bruising to his face and hands. Despite best efforts to save her, Elaine dies. George is later checked out at the hospital and found to have two broken ribs. Assess Jerry's criminal liability Can you assess each offence individually?
