Joes restaurant receives a delivery of cheese from its supplier Charlie's Cheese. After several customers become ill, it is discovered that unbeknownst to the Lame Duck Restaurant, the cheese it has received from Charlie's Cheese is actually tainted with a highly contagious fungus.

Karen's Kitchen - another restaurant which is next door to the Lame Duck restaurant - and all stores selling any kind of food within a 100 metre radius of the Lame Duck restaurant are closed down under quarantine for a month in accordance with regulations set by the NSW State Health Department. Karen's Kitchen loses a month worth of profit.

Karen is so annoyed with Joe that next time she sees Joe she says to him:

You better watch your back old man. Ill take my revenge on you when you least expect it.

Three days later while Joe is busy looking in the opposite direction (i.e. away from Karen) Karen then throws a wooden spoon which hits Joe in the back of his head.
